Easiest Teriyaki Chicken Recipe

Sharing is caring!

Today I will prepare the easiest teriyaki chicken recipe for dinner, a real treat, in which I will play a little with the flavours and ingredients. I will bring Asia’s tastes and spices to my plate on a typical Italian side dish, namely tagliatelle.

I will make a teriyaki chicken recipe using the bottled teriyaki sauce in this recipe, but I will enrich its flavour by adding some extra ingredients such as ginger or bamboo shoots. It is not a difficult recipe; in my opinion, anyone can make it and customize it to their taste.

If you don’t want to cook chicken today, I recommend the king prawn noodles recipe, another Asian recipe in which I used teriyaki sauce.

But let’s start with the ingredients!

Ingredients

I chose to use chicken drumsticks because I had them in the fridge, but you can also use chicken thighs or chicken breast. But because I have a few chicken wings left from another recipe, I put them on as well, but the basic idea is that I used about 750 g.

Asian flavours are present through the 180 g teriyaki sauce, about 100 g bamboo shoots and a little black soy sauce, about three tablespoons.

And to be the complete recipe, we add some vegetables such as two shallots, half a kapia pepper, half a leek, three cloves of garlic, one hot chilli pepper and a little ginger, about 25 grams. I will also use some Chesnut mushrooms, about 250 grams and let’s not forget a few sprigs of spring onions that we will use at the end for decoration.

Preparing the Ingredients

I start with the chicken legs I left with the skin on because I like the taste of fried skin, and I think it offers a flavour. After I wiped them with a paper towel, I seasoned with sea salt and freshly ground pepper and sprinkled them with a spoonful of flour.

We wash the vegetables and peel them, then chop them finely, starting with the prawns, garlic, ginger, chilli pepper and leek.

I dusted the mushrooms with a brush and then sliced them, and the bamboo buds that were already cut into sticks, I cut into smaller pieces.

Fry the Drumsticks

So first, heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the chicken drumsticks until they catch a crust and turn a golden colour.

We can add the sliced mushrooms and cook them for another ten minutes until they soften.

Finishing the Dish

Next come the bamboo shoots and teriyaki sauce. The bamboo shoots should not cook too long because they should remain slightly crispy.
