Hi, I am Timea and together with my husband Laci we decided to invite you to our virtual kitchen. You will see step by step how we cook and how tasty is the Transylvanian and Hungarian cuisine.
We live in England in the West Midlands, but we are both of Transylvania, a historical region of Romania.
This region is particularly beautiful and interesting, inhabited by many nations, Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Saxons, Jews, Ukrainians, Slovaks, Slovaks.
And therefore the Transylvanian cuisine is a mix of recipes borrowed between these nations.
Including me and my husband, we have from different ethnic groups and we are from different regions of Transylvania so our cuisine includes both Hungarian and Romanian recipes from different regions of Maramures, Szekler, Cluj or Oradea.
WHAT DO YOU SEE IN OUR VIRTUAL KITCHEN?
You will surely see part of our lives, how we cook, what we are eating and what are traditions in Transylvania that we strive to preserve and share with others.
If I stand to think, I’ve been cooking in my family for about 30 years since my mother broke her leg for skiing. And I had to take his place in the kitchen at the age of 16, and until now I have two big kids and who already live separately from us.
After marriage, I tried to modify some recipes and to introduce other recipes according to the tastes, my husband and I are being from different families like the nation and the region.
