Hi, I am Timea from Timea’s Kitchen, and we decided to invite you to our virtual kitchen with my husband, Laci. You will see how we cook and how tasty Transylvanian and Hungarian cuisine are.

About Us-Timea’s Kitchen

We live in England in the West Midlands, but we are both from Transylvania, a historical region of Romania.

This region is lovely and exciting, inhabited by many nations, including Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Saxons, Jews, Ukrainians, Slovaks, and Slovaks.

And therefore, Transylvanian cuisine is a mix of recipes borrowed from these nations.

My husband and I, who we have from different ethnic groups, are from other regions of Transylvania, so our cuisine includes both Hungarian and Romanian recipes from the different areas of Maramures, Szekler, Cluj or Oradea.


You will surely see part of our lives, how we cook, what we eat and what traditions in Transylvania we strive to preserve and share with others.

If I remember correctly, I’ve been cooking for about 30 years since my mother broke her leg skiing. And I had to take his place in the kitchen at the age of 16, and until now, I have two big kids who already live separately from us.

After marriage, I tried to modify some recipes and introduce other recipes according to the tastes; my husband and I are from different families, like the nation and the region.


I want to invite you to come to us on Timea’s kitchen site to cook together and find ideas for recipes. Beginners will be able to see step-by-step how to cook these recipes. And also I would be grateful if you could send me your favourite recipes to try and taste.
