With my oven baked turkey legs recipe, I always managed to make the perfect dinner for my family, and served with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, it leaves your mouth watering. It is an easy recipe, available to anyone, and can be modified in different ways.

Let me first show you what ingredients I used in this recipe.
Few Ingredients
Because I wanted to simplify this recipe as much as possible, I used only three basic ingredients, turkey legs, half of the sweet red pepper and a carrot.
We need two turkey legs, which we cut in half, thus obtaining two turkey thighs and two drumsticks, enough for six generous servings.
I was saying that it can be done in several ways because you can add other vegetables such as onions, garlic, more peppers or leeks if you want.
Preparing the Ingredients
Because there are few ingredients, we don't have much to do, I just chose to remove the skin from the thighs, so I will reduce the amount of fat in the dish.
Put the turkey legs in a bowl and we are going to season them. Sprinkle with two teaspoons of Hungarian sweet paprika powder, two tablespoons of sea salt, a teaspoon of freshly ground pepper, a tablespoon of marjoram, a teaspoon of thyme and three teaspoons of caraway seeds. And of course olive oil, I poured about 200 ml.
Now massage the turkey legs well with your hands, until the spices cover the meat on all sides. If you want, you can let the meat marinate for about half an hour so that the meat with the spices can penetrate better.
How to Make the Oven Baked Turkey Legs Recipe?
I chose a heat-resistant glass oven tray in which I placed the marinated turkey legs, together with the spiced oil.
Put in the tray the half of the pepper cut in two and the carrot also cut in two and pour a bottle of beer (I pour 500 ml).
Cover with aluminium foil and place the tray in the preheated oven at 220 degrees for 15 minutes then an hour and a half at 180 degrees. Remove the foil, increase the temperature to 200 degrees and leave for another 15 minutes to take on a golden colour.

- 1,6 kg turkey legs
- 2 teaspoons Hungarian sweet paprika

- 1 tablespoon marjoram dried
- 1 tablespoon thyme dried

- 1 teaspoon ground pepper freshly ground

Hoping you might be able to help. Have you ever heard of cutting turkey steaks from the legs? Someone at work said his butcher does it for him however, he would not elaborate. They were really good.

I do it myself, from drumsticks only if you remove the bone and all the tendons, but the thigh can be easily deboned and is delicious.
