Some Ideas
What Kind of Pork Meat to Use for Steak?
Many people (and I agree!) consider pork shoulder steak the best cut for frying, whether in a pan or on the grill. Especially well-suited are steaks with some marbling, meaning they have visible streaks of fat within the meat. During frying, these fats will melt, leaving the meat very juicy and soft, with a unique taste; it looks like a ribeye steak and which I recommend you try in the ribeye steak in air fryer recipe.
Why Did I Choose to Make Pork Steak in Air Fryer?
There are days when I would eat something tasty, but I don't feel like cooking, sit next to the pan and be careful not to overcook the steak too much, and fill the whole kitchen and clothes with the smell of frying so on.
Why Use Cosori XL Combo Air Fryer?
In those days, I prefer to use my air fryer, a Cosori XL Combo. In my opinion, is the best on the market at the moment, which makes my work a lot easier. Because I can set the appliance to what temperature and how long to fry the meat depending on how well you want it to be cooked (rare, medium or well done). Also you can use the pre sets of the air fryer, and you don't have to bother with the rest.
Ingredients
The amount of meat we need depends on the servings we want; usually, a steak per person will calculate. But because in our family, women eat one and men usually two pieces, I will average and fry about five slices for three servings.
So you need about three and a half pounds (1.1 lb) of pork shoulder steak for three generous servings. I bought it whole and sliced it at home.
Preparing the Pork Steaks
The recipe's simplicity also refers to seasoning. After slicing the meat, wipe the slices generously with a paper towel so they are well dried. Season them with a half teaspoon of sea salt and a half teaspoon of freshly ground pepper on both sides.
That's it, and the meat is ready for frying.
Preparing the Air Fryer
Because the cooking or frying time in the air fryer is short (about 8 minutes), preheating the appliance first is a good idea. To do this, set the air fryer to 205 C (401 F) for four minutes and press start.
After the four minutes have passed, take the basket out of the air fryer and place parchment paper inside (don't preheat it with this parchment paper), which helps me to clean the appliance easier later.
Frying the Meat
Although we don't need oil to cook the air fryer pork steak, if you want to spray a little oil on the parchment paper, so it doesn't stick to the meat, then place the slices of meat in the basket.
Set the air fryer to 205 C (401 F) for eight minutes if you want to get the air fryer pork steak cooked rare, 10 minutes for medium or 12 minutes to do it well done.
After eight minutes, take the meat out and let it rest for about four minutes to relax the fibres and be soft and juicy.

F.A.Q.
Cooking time for pork in an air fryer depends on these factors:
-Thin-cut pork chops (around ½ inch) usually take 8-10 minutes;
-Thick-cut pork chops (1 inch or more) may need 12-18 minutes;
-Pork Tenderloin: Around 15-20 minutes depending on size;
-Pork Roast: Aim for 25 minutes per pound (500g) for best results.
The safe internal temperature for cooked pork is 145°F (63°C). Use a meat thermometer to ensure your pork reaches this temperature, regardless of whether you cook it in an air fryer or any other method. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the meat for an accurate reading.
Use marinades containing acidic ingredients, like lemon juice or vinegar, to help tenderize the meat and prevent dryness. Choose pork cuts with some marbling or a little fat. If your cut is very lean, add a touch of oil before cooking. Let the pork rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking before cutting into it. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping your pork tender.
How to Store?
Let your air fryer pork steak cool down to room temperature before storing. This is important to prevent condensation forming inside the container. Use an airtight container or wrap your pork steaks tightly in aluminium foil or plastic wrap. Store your pork steaks in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Reheat your pork steaks in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes until warmed through. This will help with preserving a bit of crispiness.
Serving the Dish
This delicious air fryer pork steak goes best with french fries, a garlic sauce (whose recipe can be found in the fried pork liver recipe) and a salad of tomatoes and cucumbers, amazing!
