Instructions
Prep the wings: Slice the whole wings through the joints to separate the drumettes and flats. Cut off and discard the wingtips (or freeze for stock). Pat the wings thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
Season: Place the chicken wings in a large glass bowl. Add the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, Hungarian paprika, dried vegetable seasoning, onion powder, crushed garlic, thyme leaves, and 2 teaspoons of honey. Massage well with your hands until every piece is evenly coated.
Marinate (optional): Let the seasoned wings rest in the refrigerator or in a cool place for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
Preheat: Preheat your air fryer to 195°C (383°F) for 3 to 4 minutes. Lightly grease the basket with a little olive oil or non-aerosol cooking spray.
First Air Fry (25 Mins): Arrange the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer with a little space between each piece so the air circulates freely (cook in batches if needed). Air fry at 195°C (383°F) for 25 minutes.
Flip & Glaze (10 Mins): Open the basket, flip each wing over using kitchen tongs, and brush the top surface generously with honey using a silicone pastry brush.
Finish Cooking: Return the basket to the air fryer and continue cooking at 195°C (383°F) for an additional 8 to 10 minutes, until the glaze is bubbling, caramelized, and sticky.
Rest & Serve: Transfer the wings to a serving plate and let them sit for 2 to 3 minutes so the glaze thickens slightly. Serve warm with garlic mayonnaise and a fresh tomato salad.

Notes
Maximum Crispiness: Make sure the chicken wings are bone-dry before adding the oil and seasonings. Surface moisture prevents the skin from crisping properly.
Avoid Overcrowding: Do not stack wings on top of each other. Cook in two batches if your basket is smaller, as overlapping chicken will steam instead of roast.
Prevent Scorching: Brushing the honey glaze on only during the final 8 to 10 minutes ensures the sugars caramelize without burning at 195°C (383°F).
Sweetener Alternatives: Pure maple syrup or brown sugar can be used as a 1:1 substitute for honey.
