Has anyone ever tasted the Easter sweet bread cooked after the Transylvanian recipe? If not, I strongly recommend that you try this. It is delicious, not very sweet, ideal for Easter breakfast. With a little butter on top and a slice of smoked and boiled ham, it's a delight. The sweet bread made from the Transylvanian or Hungarian recipe is a little sweet and consumed instead of bread. We in the family make the braid version with and without raisins.
When it comes to cooked sweet bread and making leavened dough, many people are discouraged. But believe me, it's not that hard and the result will delight you. Home made sweet bread is very tasty and does not compare to taste with the one in the market.
The only things to keep in mind are the quality and quantity of the ingredients.
It starts with proofing the yeast. For this, we cut 25 g of fresh yeast in 300 ml of warm milk in which I put a spoon of sugar. I stir everything and let it stand for 15-20 minutes in a warming place to proof.
I put the hand of brown raisins in 100 ml of hot water and a teaspoon of rum essence for 10 minutes. After being soaked, I took them out of the water and dried them on a paper towel.
I melted 50 g of unsalted butter. In the dough we also need two egg yolks.
For one sweet bread, I used 500 g of wheat flour type 000 (triple zero) in which I put a pinch of salt and the rest of the sugar. We need 40 grams of sugar, of which I put one tablespoon of sugar on the yeast.
Make the Dough

Cooking the Sweet Bread
In one bowl I mixed an egg with a spoonful of milk. With this, I thoroughly dip the knit dough to get a nice color when baking.
I preheat the oven to 150 degrees and put the dough in baking for 45-50 minutes.
After I removed the cake from the oven, I covered it with a kitchen towel and allowed it to cool.
Tips Use wheat flour of good quality, and I recommend the 000 type flour.Bake the sweet bread at a low temperature, 150-180 degrees maximum.
